When recruiting, I would favour someone with broader knowledge. Too many engineers have a blinkered view, and it is good to see someone with a wider appreciation of all aspects of the solution. Stress the one for the job you are applying for, but loads of places with jobs I have seen recently want both sides of knowledge.]]></description>
