CAT-6 -Return Loss failed (RL and RL @ Remote)
Hi i have one situation that for me is complecated.I run cat6 utp netwok cable, When I connect each end of the cable to a Fluke DSP-4000 & DTX-1800 Network Analyzer it tells me that Return Loss failed (RL and RL @ Remote). I check details on the analyzer it says that pair 3,6 failed 4,5 failed and the others passed. All the cables are inside of metal gutter. i have 2 question: 1-What kind of problem can give Return Loss failed (RL and RL @ Remote) ? 2-Just i want to be sure that this network will work in 1000 mb.

Thanks in advance Emiljo

Hello Emiljo, This question was already answered here. Even so, you might be willing to read this document form Microtest. This doc. among others, helped me and my team some years ago (97/98) to start certifying our first structured cabling installations. HTH
