I am back in school (university) now and I am not sure what part of the IT job community I would most enjoy working in. My major is Business (management information systems). Could you tell me about the different jobs in IT or direct me to a web site. Thanx Pat

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

ONET offers excellant occupation reports. Go to http://online.onetcenter.org/ , select Find Occupations, click on the KNOWLEDGE folder icon to expand the categories & select Computers and Electronics. Then just go through the list of titles. The reports cover job tasks, skills, work activities, etc. There are also links for salary information and education. I recommend browsing the entire site.

There are SO MANY different types of IT work and this site might help you to determine what exactly you’re interested in doing.

www.salary.com is a good site for salary compensation trends by location and nationally.

Hope this helps!
