Yep, you’ll need to know both, most likely. Start with VB, then you’ll pick up some SQL when you get to learning data access from VB, and you can build your SQL knowledge from there. In my experience, companies are far more likely to hire outside help for VB programming than for SQL programming, but many VB apps are built around data access.
