What draws you to each of these (very different) fields? This is really a matter of what YOU will find rewarding as a career, so maybe do up a list of what appeals to you in each disclipine – then decide which outweighs the other.

Aside from this, you also have to consider the likelihood of getting a job in either.

Networking is typically one that’s hired from within, as it requires a bit of catching up that a lot of people don’t want to be bothered with.  Web design has a lot of options available, but its also a market that’s over saturated with people who charge $500/hour to slap a PSD into HTML and call it a day.

So, what you need to do is see what opportunities there are in your area, look around else where if need be, and see which one fits your life’s goals more.

    Hello Rahul,

There are many factors to consider.

Do you have an art/design background, UX, Information Architecture?

Do you have a strong hardware/software and networking background?

All skills aside, a career in networking/ccna is one that can be much more structured, dependent on tests/certification and clear milestones.

Web design will not necessarily have those milestones, and there is a subjective element to evaluating your work.

Location / goals / much more are all things to consider.  They are wildly different jobs, so perhaps you should aim to get certified and work in the networking field and if you have an interest in web design....design a site for yourself and write about your CCNA/networking experiences --- it could give you the info you need about web design and cause you to learn while you pursue the other career!

There's a lot to consider, good luck!

Of course, CCNA & Networking have more opportunities than Web Design. In web design  there are several parts, like web development; content writing, web hosting etc. So, if u want to make yourself a complete web expert you will have all of these knowledges. However, CCNA is also a vast course, but its market value is high than this. But all of these depend on your inclination.

It all depends on you, in which field you are interested. In my personal experience computer science people who are not good in programming choose networking or data base fields where they could excel. Its up to you how you learn things.

Both fields are good it entirely depends how good you perform, If you could write a simple java,C,C++ code for 'Calculator' !!! means you have mind to develop logic and implementation of syntax in programming , choose web designing else go for networking ... Its entirely my suggestion may be some might agree or disagree.....

You should ask yourself first. What do you love to do? Make sure that you choose a job that you will never treat a job. If you know what I mean.

you fail at doing what you don't want, you might as well take chance at doing what you love. - Jim Carrey.

If you are the creative and artistic type of person you might enjoy web design more. Networking is a good choice as well but it's more of a by the book type job. Less chance to express yourself.

Had to look it up Carlosdl.. it's attributed to  Confucius.
I find that a little hard to believe but then again as our great leader Abraham Lincoln once said "Don't believe everything you read on the internet ".....
