Can’t type in the ‘To:’ field in new or forwarded message
User is running Vista Home Premium with SP1 and Just installed IE8. He says thsi hasn'r worked for some time but when he tries to send an email or forward one through OWA he type type in the to box, you can paste something in and delete it and then enter the address just fine, reply work as the address is already there. I confirmed this behavior but cannot duplicate on another machine. Instructed him to reset his IE to 'factory' setting and try again, waiting to hear the results. I am not able to find anything like this online anywhere and am stumped as to what could be the issue with the computer.

Hmm, Try maybe adding the root domain as a trusted site as https://*.domain.com. ------------------------------ Have you applied the hotfix for KB911829. Exchange 2003 needs this patch to be compatible with Vista. It has something to do with how Vista uses DHTML.

I tried that as well. Resetting IE did not work. This configuration works fine on other desktops, I canot duplicate the issue anywhere else. The user said they tried to do a restore on the machine, it is their persoanl computer, and said it didn’t work but could give specific error details.

I should mention that its Exchange 2007 and even so that patch is for a different problem with OWA on Vista as I have installed it on a couple of Exchange 2003 servers recently
