No text is showing up when I open emails in Lotus Notes. What happened and how do I fix this?

IBM Lotus Notes Release 8.5.3

It sounds like the view is wrong….. first thing to try is shutdown Notes and rename the bookmarks.nsf on your machine. Then delete the Cache.ndk.

Start Notes and see if this still is broken.

This should fix any local view caching issue – or run the following against your mail file. If you are not an administrator please get someone to do this for you.

    If you are experiencing blank message body after opening a mail in Notes, First see if restarting Notes helps you.

    • Have you performed any migration or restore? If email migration isn’t done properly then some emails can render empty border.
    In such case check the solution given at:

    • You can also experience a blank email body if the DAMO user sends an email attachment whose file name includes accented characters.
