Sorry, hit the button too quick. To turn it in for the service seems to take forever, they had my last computer for over 4 weeks, just to tell me it was bad ram module. But I do appreciate your time in this matter. Bill

Yes, it is under extended warranty, but I thought this might be something I could fix myself. I really didnt think installing xp was going to cause all these problems.

The first thing the HP person should of did was ask you for the serial number so they could find out if your computer was still under warranty. So before I attempt to help you figure this out, is your computer under warranty and/or an extended warranty?
