 can’t ping guest os from the outside LAN
hi i have configued vmware as xp is my host os and windows2003 as server, i need to make my guest os working like a standalone PC in the LAN,which network setup i need to follow. becuse whenever i tried to make ping from guet os to LAN pc's ts working fine, but same time when i tried to ping from the pc which is in the same local area network, cant get reply from the guest os? so which network setup i need to test,bridged? and what will be there changes i need to do the vmware adapters expect physical adapter?

Answer Wiki:
You should use a 'bridged' network connection, and assign an appropriate ip-address/netmask to the guest. Make sure no firewall (on the guest and the host) is blocking ping requests. ----------
