Can’t map to IFS Folder

Mapping
For the last 2 years I've had a mapping to an IFS folder from my PC. I ran a registry cleaner to fix another problem (it worked) and at the end of the month I noticed that my mapping to the IFS folder did not work on from my computer. I remapped to the same drive, but it continues to prompt me for a user id & password. I just re-prompts me for a password, but no error messages. I went to 2 different PCs and tried the exact same mapping and connected without a problem. I went back to my PC and still couldn't map to the desired folder.

Hello,

When you went to the other PC’s, did you log on to the mapping under your ID or someone that was at that PC logged on using their ID? The times that I have run into the issue with the profile not being able to connect to the IFS, I had to go to iSeries Navigator and enable the user due to being disabled…

To check this, go to iSeries Navigator, Select File Systems, right click on File Shares, select iSeries NetServer and another small window will open, right click on iSeries Netserver and select Disabled User ID’s. This will bring up a window and show any ID’s that have been disabled from IFS Shares. You can then highlight the user ID and click Enable. The other time we have had the issue is when PC’s are shared between users. Then I have them disconnect the mapping, when they go to connect I have them select to sign on as a different user, put in their information and it will connect.

Hope this helps some…
