Can’t Install SQL Server 2000 on Window XP SP2

I try to install SQL Server 2000 on Window XP SP2, but there is an error message mean "OS not support.". What should I do? How can I install SQL Server 2000 on Window XP SP2? Please, give me the best and detail answer. Thanks.

Unfortunatally you cannot install SQL server standard or enterprise edition on Windows XP sp2. You can however install the developer edition or the msde version. MSDE however does not give you the enterprise manager tools.

    when i am installing the sql server 2000 on window xp2 ,there is showing a message that some programme that a previous program installation created pending operation on the installation machine .you must restart the computer before running the setup. but i have restarted many a times machine . but this message is shown and again why?

    The answer is within ur Q. Might be somehow previously installation work not completed correctly. Try to remove all known instances of Sql Server.  Registry editing is necessary though I am not sure how u familiar with this kind of job. But Don't delete DATA folder cause it has flat file backup of the databases in an mdf & ldf format. Try to remove from add/remove progs. Also read knowledgebase article on how to conf XP SP2 for use with Sql Server on the MS website.
