Can’t dismiss or delete Outlook 2003 calendar invitation
Every time I open Outlook, I receive a reminder for an invitation I sent out weeks ago. When I try to discuss it, I receive  the error message: "Cannot turn off the reminder. You may be reminded again. Could not complete the operation. One or more parameter values are not valid."

When I try to open the invitation, I receive a message "Cannot open the item for this reminder." I also cannot delete the invitation.

Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Answer Wiki:
I am often amused and/or irritated by messages that essentially tell you "You have a problem, but we can't tell you exactly what it is or how to resolve it, have a nice day". One tool I have found that really helps resolve the Outlook issue you describe is <a href="http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=55FDFFD7-1878-4637-9808-1E21ABB3AE37&displaylang=en">MFCMAPI</a>. And <a href="http://activedir.org/Articles/tabid/54/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/50/How-to-delete-corrupt-mail-items-with-MFCMAPI.aspx">here is a guide</a> showing steps to use it.

Wow, thank you so much, technochic! I feel like someone just pulled an annoying thorn out of my foot!
Yes, I do wonder why MS couldn’t make their error messages a little more useful.

Thanks again for your help.
