I have an Acer laptop that drops its wireless connection from time to time and it's related to me hitting the silly on/off switch for the wireless card on the front of it. Awful design. Definitely check that and update your drivers...If you're using WEP or WPA, turn those off for troubleshooting and then re-enable later once you get it resolved. You may also want to do an in-depth virus scan using multiple scanning tools just in case it's malware-related.
