Can’t Connect using 24 port Baylan Switch while working okay with an old baylan 08 port switch

Can't Connect using 24 port Baylan Switch while working okay with an old baylan 08 port switch that has an Uplink additional port. When i connect using 24 port switch, it starrts dropping packets and ping response breaks continously. Can any one help on this. Please! My network structure is => Internet -> Cisco Router -> Media Converter - > Fiber optic -> Media Converter -> Baylan Switch (where problem is occuring).

Software/Hardware used:

I’ll recommend you to try to isolate the problem.
For the record, I don’t personally know Baylan Switches. I don’t know if they have any particularity – I assume they don’t, and this answer only relies on common sense.

Checklist:
– Check every cable you’re connecting to that Baylan 24 port switch;
– Check if you are connecting a cross-over cable to a MDI-X port;
– Check each and every individual port for problems.

Is this a new switch? Was it used before? Does this switch have any king of management console/interface? If so are you able to make a full reset f it?

The problem you’re describing, seems to be related to (excessive) collisions / bad cable or a network loop.

Please run the check above and post the results.
