 Can’t access shared folders – Windows 7
Hey guys,
can anybdy help, I'm setting up an ad hoc network with two laptops running different windows, windows7 and vista. tha network discovery is turn on, and pass word protect is off. I also set the laptops to home group. the problem is that i can't access the shared folder from the other laptop. Can anybody help me . thanx in advance.

Try with net view \<ipaddress> and see what error is ! most probably it shows “System error 58″ .
To solve this go onto the Windows Home Server and go to the permissions for the share. From there make sure under sharing u click permissions and everyone has full rights. Then go to the actual permissions where u have all the users and groups. Add the group Everyone will all rights and this may solve the issue.

Along the lines of what Rechil was saying, ensure the share’s security and permissions include the “Full Access” rights for whoever you’re connecting with…
