Cannot Generate C++ Stubs With WSDL2Ws

I cannot get the C++ stubs to generate from the sample IBM pieces. Here is my process.

1) QSH to Start the Command Entry

2) cd /workdirectory (in here I have a copy of the ConvertTemp.wsdl

3) At the command line I type the following:

/QIBM/ProdData/OS/WebServices/V1/client/bin/wsdl2ws.sh ConvertTemp.wsdl

Then I receive the $ with no message on the terminal. The message 'Code Generation Completed' does NOT appear on the terminal. When I do ls in my /workdirectory I do not see the C++ stub generated. I only see my ConvertTemp.wsdl file. I should be seeing the ConvertTemp.cpp file.

There is no further information displayed on the screen. The C++ stub is just not generating.

Does wsdl2ws.sh exist at that location? (Probably, or you'd see an error. But lack of an error might indicate a secondary issue.) What version of i5/OS? If V5R4, do you have PTF SI29850 (or its later superseding PTFs)? Tom

The wsdl2ws.sh does exist at the location. I have i5/OS and V5R4 and I have PTF SI29850 and both superseding PTF's,1) SI35154 and 2) SI32054. I just tried again and noticed spool files: FIle - QPJOBLOG - User Data QP0ZPWP (three of these) 1st spool file - MSGID CPF2523 Type - Completion. Message 'No job log information'. From PGM QMHJLOG Library - QSYS. INST - *N. To Pgm *EXT. Inst *N 2nd spool file - MSGID JVAB56D Type Diagnostic - Severity 00. From Module - QJVAJVMXIF From Proceudre sendMessage_10QjvaJvmXiFPcN21. Statement 10. To module QJVAJVMXIF. To procedure - check_J9_Envvvar_10QjvaJvmXifFv. Statement 134. Thread 00000064. Message 'Java Virtual machine is IBM Technology for Java PID (429). Severity 40. From PGM QJVAUTLJVM To PGM QJVAQSHCMD From Module QJVAUTLJVM From Procuedure JvaSendMsg. Statement 4. To module QJVAQSHCMD To procedure QjvaQshCmd. Statement 813. Thread 00000064. Inst *N (same as spool file 1).

JVAB56D Type Diagnostic - Severity 00. From Module - QJVAJVMXIF From Proceudre sendMessage_10QjvaJvmXiFPcN21. Statement 10. To module QJVAJVMXIF. To procedure - check_J9_Envvvar_10QjvaJvmXifFv. The "IBM Technology for Java" identification tells that it's the 32-bit Java that's running. But what comes after: ...Severity 40. Message ‘Unable to complete Java program’ It looks as if that's only part of the message. In particular, the message identifier is missing. It also looks like it's close to whatever is going wrong. It's a place to look deeper until it's eliminated. Can you supply anything more from it? Although it might not help, you might get some direction from the IBM i Java 6 problem determination guide. The stuff running behind the scenes might need attention. That part of the guide could have pointers on where or how to look if joblog messages don't lead anywhere. Tom

I checked the reference, ' IBM i Java 6 problem determination' guide. I cannot find anything in this guide that resolves the issue. I cannot get a stub created. Not sure where to investigate next.
