 Cannot access shared drives on a server with virtual server
I have a poweredge small business server with one virtual server on it. However I can not access my shared drives on the virtual server from the host server. But I can access those shared drives from any other place, but not the host server. Please help!!!

i am not sure what type of virtual you are using, but if it is vmware, if you allow the virtual to use the physical sever access / network card, then you should be able to access it... if not you can check by doing this \ip address of the server or \server name. by doing this you will be able to see a pop up box for authentication... if not check if there is a firewall setting on the server.... if not on the host server check your "Computer Browser" settings at services to make sure it is Automatic and Started

Could you provide more details ?

What virtualization software are you using ?
Can you see the shared forlders, but get an “access denied” message when trying to access them ?
How did you configure networking for the virtual server ? Are the host and the guest ip addresses in the same subnet ? can you ping the guest from the host ?
