Q:
Can you install disks from an HDS 9910 into an HDS 9960?
We have two unsupported storage-area networks (SANs) - one Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) 9910 and one HDS 9960. They are both left over from a SAN upgrade to NSC55, but we are using the old 9910 and 9960 for our test rigs until they break down and stop working. The 9910 is fully populated with 72GB disks but the newer 9960 has only half of its disk trays populated with 72GB disks.

Since it is a test rig, I see no harm in plugging the drives in and configuring them.
Make sure you have a back of the existing configuration before you change anything.
