Hi. I'm really interested in IPv6 and want to go to school to learn more about it and become an expert in the field. I can't find any universities that teach IPv6 though. Where can I get an education or earn a degree in IPv6 technology?

Hi
As far as I know there is no specific IPv6 education track, the reason probably being that this is too specific. IP ist part of TCP/IP and TCP/IP is used for networking. So you have to look for education tracks in the general networking area and yes, a state of the art education track would then include great modules on IPv6 as well as on IPv4.
On the other side you will find vendor classes such as Cisco, or standard market trainings such as my offerings, but from your question I assume that is not what you are looking for.

I hope this helps,
Silvia

You can get a PhD in anything (depends on your thesis) but at the BS level it will be in IT or networking and more specific at the MS level. Be ready for years of study, research, writing, oral exams, etc. Very hard to get a technical PhD before 30 (four years for a BS, two-three years for an MS, and six-eight years for a PhD. Yes, there are 2d and 3d tier schools where you can complete more quickly, but who want's to fly coach? Plan for a lifetime of learning and study. Good luck, nrk BS mathematics/computer science MS engineering MS project management PhD working on that at 66.
