Our Windows SBS 2003 crashed. Can we use a Windows Server 2003 standard disk to boot to a recovery console?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

If all you need of the disk is the recovery console, you should be OK. If you need to go beyond that, you are going to need the SBS media. The two server versions have quite a few differences between them.

Most probably, u can't. Because of the compatibility problems. U may insert the first Windows Small Business Server 2003 CD-ROM, Disk1 and invoke X:i386winnt32/cmdcons, replacing X with the drive letter of the Windows Small Business Server 2003 CD-ROM. Click Yes to install the Recovery Console. If the problem due to "NTOSKRNL.EXE" file, u may try to run chkdsk /r command.
