The simplist way I have found to trouble shoot the SNDDST command is by manually sending an email from a telnet screen. The responses from the email server will tell you if you are reaching the server and if the server likes your commands. This way, you can learn if the server doesn’t like the source email, the target email, or if you are actually reaching the mail server at all.

From a commad line telnet to the email server on port 25.
SMTP via TELNET:
TELNET RMTSYS(mailserver.company.com) PORT(25)
<<<220 fsi.mail.company.or.us Groupwise Internat Agent 7.01
<<<<500 syntax error
<<<<250 fsi.mail.company.or.us Ok
<354 Enter mail, end with “.” On a line by itself
>>>>Type the rest of your email here.
>>>>Last line is a period all by itself to end the transmission.
