Hi 1) I can not send emails from a specific account (artour@sokoltours.com) via MS Outlook 2000 (i use XP os). This started recently (a week or so). Before that, everything worked fine. 2) The email (artour@sokoltours.com) shows as "sent", but vanishes without any traces. There are no error messages. Once in a while, the email does go out/received via MS outlook, but rare, on random basis. 3) I do receive emails thru outlook sent to this account (artour@sokoltours.com) from other computers. That seems working fine. 4) Also, NO problems when I send/receive emails using same account (artour@sokoltours.com) from Outlook Express. 5) I have NOD32 antivirus. I reinatlled it, but the problem is still there. 6) Talked to the local Internet providers....they said they do not even see emails coming to their server. 7) I also have 2 more email accounts (yatchenko@zoominternet.net) with local Internet provider and my other site (artour@yatchenko.com). Both accounts seem working fine in MS outlook 2000. The emails are sent out and received fine. What is the problem? thank you Artour 724-935-5373

Since you are receiving and sending messages in Outlook Express, the root cause appears local to the specific computer and/or copy of Outlook. If Oultook Express is installed on the same computer, then that all but eliminates the computer. I would confirm all of the profile settings in Outlook, particularly the SMTP incoming and outgoing server settings. Make sure that the correct user name and password is entered.

Something that may help troubleshoot this issue is more information, such as how the Outlook client is configured — MAPI, IMAP or POP.

If you are using a MAPI profile, create a new MAPI profile for testing purposes and see if the issue occurs with the new profile.

*** End Update ***

It does sound like something is wrong with your send settings in Outlook. Check the configuration there and also if there might be a firewall along the path blocking outbound SMTP traffic.

For whatever reason, sometimes, the ports get switched. On your outlook profile, check to see if the incoming and outgoing ports are correct. I would also check the server side and within the firewall to determine if its not client based. Hope this helps! -Schmidtw
