Can I use Lotus Enterprise Integrator (LEI) to make info available outside of SAP?


SAP, Lotus Enterprise Integrator (LEI), LEI

We are looking to deploy human resource kiosks that will offer HR information extracted from SAP. Our problem is this. How do we make the information available outside of SAP without having each individual user enter SAP. I have been told that Lotus Enterprise Integrator is a possible answer. Has anyone done this (or something similar) that can offer some advice?

DECS comes free with Domino. LEI is an additional product. Depending on the size of the database and organization, you will have to decide which to use. I think DECS is fine for most companies/nifrastructure. I don’t know enough about LEI to help in a decision.
Check your Domino Server in the Help folder for DECS Installation & User Guide and/or the DECS User Guide. Check the IBM site for more information.

If you want changes in the Notes/web interface to update SAP, I think that is possible. If it is just read, I’m sure it can be done. I don’t have any direct experience with SAP, so I don’t know the backend application. However, I know that Notes has plug-ins for SAP that tightly integrate it with the Notes mail client (this allows time reporting without logging into SAP), so I’m sure that it is supported as a database connection for DECS as well.
