 Can I set up a shadow copy of an entire drive?
Using shadow copy can I set up a shadow copy of an entire drive and not just a shared folder? Can I also do this on workstations like Windows 7? Or am I limited to only server os’es. If so are there hacks or workarounds?

I just did this for my Windows 7 desktop. Open the system icon in the control panel. Click the "System Protection" link in the left side pane. Your system partition should already be protected. If you have a second partition click that and then click the "configure" button. Choose your settings and apply. ========================== Those things that you have mentioned are always possible. However, you need to install a shadow or disk image creating software like Acronis True Image or Norton Ghost. In fact, creating a shadow copy of the entire drive is the best way to backup and secure your files from your computer.
