Can I receive Outlook invites without using Exchange Server?
I have Outlook 2003 at home and received an invite to a meeting from someone using Outlook 2000.  I got the e-mail fine but it didn't go into the Outlook calendar. Suggestions? Thanks

Yes you should be able to receive thse. You said you received it to your email inbox, did you open and accept it? If so, did you get an error or no? If you got an error what was it?

There is an incompatibility between 2000 and 2003 invitations in the way they interpret reminders. Tell the person to uncheck the Reminder Checkbox before sending it to you. It should show up in the correct format and then you can accept it and it should go to your calendar.

Did you accept the invitation through Outlook? If not, the time slot will not populate in your calendar…
