Local community college that has an Iseries operations class would work. Not free; but alot cheaper.
If you can't afford the class or have the time, maybe you can talk them into a crash course.

There used to be self study programs from IBM (a couple of decades ago). Maybe some companies still have these studies in house that you can borrow.

Are the IBM Redbooks still out there? Online? They were helpful.

You need an iSeries and the IBM Website,

Search for the manuals, read the relevant ones.
Go to the RedBooks site, and browse for the topics of interest, redbooks are full of blow by blow ‘how I configured an i5 to control moon Landers’ type documentation.

iSeries is a *big* subject - what area are you intending to focus on?
