Cable required - Cisco 2811
I need to know the type of cable to login to cisco 2811 router. Can i use the LAN port on my laptop, use a straight cable and connect through the console port of the router? Please help

You need what's known as a "rollover" cable to go from the console port; then a "standard" RJ-45 to DB-9 adapter on the end of it. Cisco normally provides one with each piece of networking gear; so if you know someone who works with network equipment, they probably have a stash of unused ones (typically light blue) kicking around...

Once the device is setup, standard Ethernet connectivity applies, and you don't need that cable until the next emergency or new piece of gear arrives.
