I have a new Windows 8 laptop that I'm trying to connect my HP c6180 all in one printer to. I tried installing the download from the HP website for this printer with proper OS selection. Not working. I read online to try Win 7 64 bit driver. Also didn't work. Verified cables and printer work. Works on a secondary vista machine. Hp website confirm that their new driver should work but it doesn't. When installing Win 8 driver a notification appears on task bar saying unable to recognize device. Please share any ideas.

Software/Hardware used:
win 8 64 bit, hp c6180 all in one printer

What is the name of the file that you downloaded? Were there any issues shown when you ran the install procedure? Is the printer directly attached to the Windows 8 PC? -- Tom
