BW Client Copy (Production to QA)
Has anyone ever done a client copy of BW Production to BW QA? Our systems have become very out of synch and we would very much like to copy our production environment into our QA environment in an attempt to get things cleaned up. Has anyone ever had this experience? I now it is frequently done in R/3 clients but is it possible with BW clients?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

My QA and Sandbox instances are both full copies of production. We copy the entire instances of R/3, BW, and APO each time to make sure they are in sync. We normally do this once a month in each client. They are disk copies from a mirror so it doesn't take all that much time.

Thanks so much for your response. Unfortunately we don’t have a mirror server so we can’t use that option.
Have you had any issues with this process? Risks? What about your transports (STMS)? Are they impacted at all? I’ve been told the client copy process for BW is risky unfortunately I really don’t know anything about it.
We have done Client copy from BW production to BW QA.
But we faced a lot of problems , mainly in the areas of SID,number range, units,and partner profile. We were able to solve the above executing RSRV .The partner profile we had to maintain again from WE20.

We periodically do full database copies in order to refresh QA and DEV systems, both R3 and BW. Our BW env. is 3.0B running on Win2000/Oracle817. If you’re interested in specifics, please ask.
