Hi, I am currently working as Business Objects developer having around 3+ years experience and overall 7 years in IT with good db skills.

I am planning to pursue as an independent consultant and dont know where to start with.

I dont have any BO certification at present. I would also like to know the market rates for independent BO consultants?

Please advice if its a right choice to step now.

As u think it adds good value in ur career. SAP-BO is good choice for u. Of course cost is matter. Or u may go for MBA-System (as u mentioned of ur IT skill). Great idea, good to see you’re looking at other options! Becoming an independant consultant requires two main things – knowledge and connections. Make sure your knowledge and experience is good (which I’m sure it is with your 3+ years in BO as you mentioned). Also, keeping in touch with previous employers and coworkers is a good idea, which can help with future work.
Getting additional qualifications in the BO area can help with marketability and finding a new client. Good luck!
