I am a non-IT staff but I am with IT background. Here is a scenario of the problem, hope to get the appropriate solution.
There was a company and each staffs had a different account. But now it is merged with another company. The problem is all the emails are received in one email that belongs to that company: suppose the name of company is ABC: there were lots of email ids: email@example.com, firstname.lastname@example.org, email@example.com, etc. and now all emails are received at firstname.lastname@example.org. Most emails are junk emails and among them only 0.01% emails are needed.
You can imagine: 11000 emails are coming in a single day. Our IT people say that they have blocked all the staff ids except 3 IDs that are necessary. But junk emails are still coming for those ids and other fake IDs created with domain @abc.com.
Receipt of emails is been hard and time consuming.
Can I sort out this problem by myself being non-IT staff or it should be done working in the Server. Please suggest me so that I can suggest my IT staffs also.
