Building a better WAN

WAN protocol, WAN, Citrix

WE have 6 offices in TX, main is in Houston with our servers, next is Dallas. We use Citrix now and find it limiting and cumbersome. What do I need to have my team put inplace to create a real WAN so Dallas people login to Outlook on the same server Houston people do and have the same experience?

The same basic questions will still apply as to your other post. We need to know how many users you have in the Dallas office. The number of users will determine how much bandwidth you need between the Dallas and Houston offices.

If the Dallas office has a large number of users you might find it more cost effective to purchase another Exchange license and set up the Exchange server at the Dallas office.

We have about 30 users in Dallas, 12 in Austin, 5 in San Antonio and 3 in Corpus, Phase 1 is getting Dallas up. If I have another Exchange in Dallas can they connect to the Houston office cleanly?

we currently have about 35-40 users at another site. they are connected to us by a point to point T1 line. they use MS office suite and exchange via this connection with no problems.

Sounds good, are there any diagrams or whitepapers on how to set these up. My background is business and accounting with enough IT to understand the concepts but not the details
