Q:
BRMS using a TSM for backup
We are using BRMS to back up to our TSM and that is working The problem is that our company now has a second TSM and wants us to back up to the new TSM. I configired the IP line and configured BRMS for the new TSM. I then very off the old IP line to the TSM and when I perform the back up it is still going to the old TSM I am not sure what is going on does anyone have any ideas. If need I can provide my phone number and talk about this if it is easier

You configured a new IP, have you verified the physical connection of the ethernet cable from the old TSM was removed and connected to the new TSM?

I found out what was causing the problem. There is a source file QOPTADSM in library QANSAPI member APIOPT it holds the ip address to the TSM This memeber still had the old TSM IP and after I changed it to the IP for the new TSM everything worked. I just wonder why the BRMS software does not automatically updat this member

Only a guess.. Did you try running the INZBRM command with a *DEVICE parameter?

Yes I did run the INZBRM *DEVICE it added all the devices to the BRMS but did not change the APIOPT member
