brms parallel save/restore performance issue

Hi I'm testing BRMS parallel save/restore, but found the time using 4 tape drives is more or less same as 1 single tape drive. My iSeries is i570, V5R3, Group PTF SF99185 Level 014, tape drives are LTO3 each connected to a individual f/c 5704 tape controller. backup 1 library of 1300 objects 124GB takes 14 minutes and restore takes about 1 hour. Checked with IBM said maybe my 124GB data too small to gain the benefit of parallel save/restore, or there're too many small objects. Is that true? Much appreciated if someone can help. Thanks!!

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

I have 270 with OS400 V5R1 and 3575 Tape Library with 2 internal drives. The system has 738GB disk storage. Without parallel save the weekly saves average runtime was 800 minutes. With parallel the weekly save average runtime is 400 minutes. The system has big libraries between 40 and 50 GB. These libraries have couple of files larger than 10GB. Big libraries with big objects are good candidates for parallel saves with BRMS.
