Try using this REDBOOK for the details of what you are looking for in BRMS. It helps tremendously.

You can also convert the job log to physical file in AS/400 and get that information.

You may want your program to look into the BRMS files themselves. I would suggest looking into file QUSRBRM/QA1AHS and see whether you can retrieve the requested info from that file. Maybe some other files of BRMS are more suited, but just investigate the files in library QUSRBRM and see what you can come up with.

But I want it in a way …which will contain say…today’s daily backup START TIME,END TIME and the MEDIA used for the backup. I need to add a call program with the start up program which runs when the backup completes.
All the 3 information will get mailed to the customer once the start program gets executed.

On a command line type GO BRMS take option 12 for Reports.

Just use the reports in BRMS to get the information you are looking for.
