BRMS Commands
After completion of BRMS backup I used to run BUPMAINT command. While running BRMS command if I entered another BRMS command ex. GO BRMS then my session goes into MSGW state. I have to cancel the session or end the job. Recently we have upgraded from V5R4 to V7R1. Previously it was accepting BRMS command while running BUPMAINT. Does anyone help me? why this is happening. The release for BRMS is still V5R4.

    why this is happening.

We can't guess why it's happening until we know what the message is. Bring up a WRKACTJOB list and try option 7, 'Display message', against that job. Tell us the details of what shows from that option.

The BRMS behaviour is normal. Some of the BRMS Maintenance steps run dedicated and prohibit (for a limited time) access to other BRMS commands.Did the upgrade process not Upgrade BRMS ?
