Bottomline sunsetting Optio software

Q:
Bottomline sunsetting Optio software
we have a large investment in optio software which has been acquired by bottomline technologies. I have looked at their web site and it looks like they have other products that do what we do with Optio. I suspect we will soon be asked to 'upgrade' our system with something from bottomline. we are not overly happy with our system as is and I dont reallly think I want to test bottomlines mashup of new software. Is there a way to convert optio systems to some other technology?

Support for Optio products
I believe the best option for support for Optio products could well be getting support from a good third party if you do not want to upgrade to Bottomline’s products. Despite RingMaster being in the Oracle E-Business Suite maintenance space, we are not able to support Optio products. I am sorry, but I do not know of many companies who can support Option products either. The only company I can think of that I would recommend to support Optio products is C3 Business Solutions, [ELEMENT <a href="http://www.c3biz.com" title="http://www.c3biz.]” target="_blank”>www.c3biz.com so you might want to try them. Sorry I cannot be more help.

Hi Diskjockey, “curiosity killed the cat,” what did you finally decide to do about your Optio support issue?

Diskjockey, we at Allante have been providing Optio services for over 10 yrs and actually had done quite a bit of Optio’s implementations historically as well as our own. If you want to discuss further I can provide more information on how yo may be able to leveareg your investment - miguel.rodriguez at allantecorp.com. Thanks.

Finding an Optio support solution ignores the core of this question.

What is Bottomline’s future strategy for Optio products? The Bottomline web site ignores Optio, whose products don’t even appear on the products tab.

From the looks of it, Bottomline plans to absorb Optio & its products; there don’t seem to be plans to improve/upgrade any of Optio’s software. The staff at Alpharetta is gutted, which also makes me wonder what the future holds for Optio.

There are several great Forms packages out there that are easier to use and cost less to maintain than Optio. If you are an iseris AS400 shop you should look at MapForm from http://www.symtrax.com we switched from Option to MapForm and they made it relatively easy for us.
