Microsoft Windows XP
Hello,  I tried to install Windows XP professional on my Acer system. I made my first bootable device as CD-ROM and the second as HDD. The system boots from the CD and shows that setup is loading the files. And immediately after that a blue screen pops up and says a message. I'm not able to move further. the message states something like this setup could not continue if this is the first time...........check for viruses on your computer......run chkdsk-f....and so on. So please somebody help me out in solving out this issue. How can I install windows. Is it possible. I am waiting for your reply.

The details of the error message are extremely important to determine the needed course of action.

    My guess would be:

    1. The setup disk is not correct for what you are trying to do.

    2. There is a hardware problem with the HDD, it is too small, not partitioned correctly...

Are you trying to install a valid version of XP with a license key? Is this a 32 or 64 bit version. Does your Acre meet the hardware requirement for memory and disk space?

do you change your storage configuration in your BIOS? If no, you need to change it to "AHCI" instead of using 'IDE' in your SATA Controller.

I would need the exact error message that you are encountering.  It is possible that you are using an HDD that has been write protected in someway,  and or the bios / setup is not recognizing it correctly
