 Blue screen – NDIS.SYS

I'm running XP SP2 on a Dell Inspiron that has more and more frequently crashed while in a browser (IE, Netscape, and/or Firefox). The error message refers to NDIS.SYS. Where do I begin to look for a resolution to this problem?
