How can I block CDRW/DVDRW and USB drives from being used in our Windows XP machines across the entire network?

Joining them in a domain and applying Active Directory group policies.

Hi,

By just simply changing registery value for USBSTORE :(HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\USBSTOR)
Change the start value to maximum that is 4 .

You can do it by Group policy if all machines are in domain or by manually running some script.

    What Sachin said. Just don't take the approach of many by documenting a policy that says it cannot be done and then not following through and actually enforcing the rule.
