Blocking Internet Explorer
Blocking Internet Explorer, Internet Explorer, Internet connectivity
There is a user in domain based network. He is provided the internet connection and is connected to a LAN. Emails coming are received via Microsoft Office Outlook and also using GOOGLE CHROME, he can access the internet. But internet explorer is not working. I mean it is blocked and as a result IM like Yahoo and MSN are not working.

How can only internet explorer blocked? Is it possible to unblock it??

It depends on what is "blocking" it, it there is a Group Policy in place that avoid/prohibits the use of Internet Explorer I'd say that for some reasons the IT Department has disabled it.

I dunn want to know how to unblock it. But I just want to know, how this blocking can be done? I think the IT Department has blocked the internet explorer only. I want the procedures for the blocking.

They probably set up a group policy to block it.

First, could you tell us what exactly do you mean by “blocked” ?
Can you run internet explorer or not ? If yes, what happens when you try to browse the web ?

The application itself can be blocked via policy or some third-party app. Let us know more details and we can be of more assistance.

Internet explorer is not running. The message comes as follows:

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.

Webs cannot be surfed using internet explorer but using Google Chrome, webs can be served. Also due to the same reason, IM like Yahoo and MSN are not running.
