Blackberry address Book

So i have a customer who we put onto our Bes server, so we hooked him up and it started to go and made it to 97% but then stopped there... It was stuck on address book.. my client has 3900 Contacts in his outlook and wanted to know exactly how many could be transfered onto the blackberry. So that is my question what is the limit of contacts you can have on your blackberry?
