Bizarre Configuration "Restoration".

Tech support, Help Desk, Hardware, Desktops, Windows 95/98, Windows client administration and maintenance, Installation

Once again, here I am on the outskirts of reason with problem.

Machine in question is an HP Pavilion, running Windows 98. It's a customer's machine so upgrading the O/S is not an option.

The situation is that the machine has a bunch of stuff that I don't want on it - so I removed it - like:
- Configurations for long-gone network adapters
- NetBEUI for all adapters
- OLD version of McAfee Anti-Virus

Please restate the question/problem. Looks like you did some checking and clean-up. So far, so good. Need more information.

I’m guessing that you are saying you have aquired this customer’s computer for your own use. However, this is ultimately irrelevent, as you have not stated the problem / error(s) you are encountering or what your goal is. I agree with the other answer given so far - we need a better picture of your problem.
