 bind to Exchange Server, read email from public folder with C#

I would appreciate any help. My C# process needs to bind to a remote Exchange Server (the only address I know is from my Outlook). The process needs to gain access to a public folder to read email. It would be best if the process can monitor the public folder for unread email. The process cannot rely on an Outlook client. The process is not web-enabled.

How can I do it? (I am new to Exchange Server).
