That depends on u : I agree am with Chippy088, though I am providing more details .... 1. There are no of different options with respect to Web Design applications. If you are just beginning web design and would like some type of a drag-and-drop application, then you may like Adobe Dreamweaver. It is commonly used by beginner programmers/web designers due to it's simply, easy to use interface. 2. If you would like a free and/or open source alternative you have many options, such as NVU, which is a similar drag-and-drop web designer. AND Lastly If you would like a CMS (Content Management System) that essentially is a pre-built series of files that allows you to simply post content and have the site run itself, then you may want something similar to Joomla. Bye !

Don’t know about the best, I got sort of locked into Macromedia Dreamweaver, as I could pick a coleagues brain for ideas and help. I didn’t even know enough html to build a half decent professional site, but with the online help, books and some excellent support sites with templates etc, I have managed to publish a passable site. I have since added Macromedia flash and shockwave to the web site developing software.

I dabbled with some of the programs that would build your site for you after you chose options and page layout etc from menus. The resulting site was often hard to edit or expand, as the coding was hard to read and understand. It did not help with learning html, so I went back to DW.

I have been able to get extensive help from a friend who develops sites, as his main source of income, and his patience has inspired me to continue with DW. He has now moved on to CS5, so maybe I should consider that as more superior.
