Best solution for deploying Linux virtual desktop
I'm looking to replace Windows XP client that's used only for web applications & mail with Linux/Ubunutu virtual desktop using a thin client or old PC. I'd like to have failover and balancing capability and a simple UI. Any suggestions?

Answer Wiki:
I would suggest you try Verde VDI from Virtual Bridges. They originally started in partnership with IBM, Novell and a couple of other companies in 2006 and created the first Linux VDI solution but it is based on the Linux KVM as opposed to the Xen hypervisor. And you can cluser the VERDE servers for high availability.

If I am not wrong, it is better to replace Microsoft Terminal Server. The hidden thing is there,
get a virtual IP and u can tie it to a local DNS name and it helps to connect to the clients. After that, it is possible to connect with VNC or something like type of remote desktop solution to connect to the server.
Though, There are plenty of tools available for creating virtual machines and servers. These OS Emulation tools comes handy for testing software without investing in a large and expensive hardware. Rather u may use Virtual Box for instant solution. it is one of the most popular virtualization solutions for Linux / Windows.

Thanks–
