if you want you can get a 2 disk NAS and slot in 6TB of hard disk into it. Then you can choose if you want to do Raid 1 or not. with Raid 1 at least you confirm that your data is there if 1 hard disk crashes.
to me all the hard disk is the same now, just get what is in your budget
I recommend Solid state Drive. Last longer compared to standard Drive. Althouhg it does not come cheap.
