A SearchStorage.com reader recently asked: Is lower better? I just did a bechmark test on my video card using a software that cane with my system, the first time I got a score of 73, after letting the progam optimize the card it dropped to 43

That depends upon what you are benchmarking…

If you are measuring system performance in such a way as to count the number of given operations per second, than lower is definately NOT better.

If howeever the benchmark is measuring how fast an operation completes, then lower IS better.

You don’t mention what benchmark test or test suite you are using, so I’m afraid I can’t be any more specific…
