Batch File to Query internal Mail Server
Is it possible to create a batch file to query a specific mailbox on an internal Exchange mail server for an email that is sent to a specific email group and move that email, or, the email attachment to the a folder on another drive. I am not very good in creating batch file so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Answer Wiki:
Are you just trying to get a copy of the email? You can't move a specific email onto another drive, it has to be moved to another mailbox on another drive in another mail store. What version of exchange? Is this for Human Rrsources legal retention reasons? Can you get permissions to the mailbox instead or request the email be sent to another mailbox or copied to another mailbox? Your email admins can copy the email for you and put it in any mailbox required provided they have permissions from upper management and/or HR. ---------------------------------- Process Them email automation software that can be used to solve your issue. Hi Technochic,

No, this is not for Human Resources. This is MicroSoft Exchange 2007.
The email contains data that will be used to update a file. The process that does the update is automated and does not require human intervention. The “powers that be” wants a process that will take the email and drop it into a folder so the other process can pick it up from there and perform the update. The goal is to automate the process from beginning to end and to avoid little or no intervention with the processing of this file.

the exchange version is 8.1.336.0.

I did not think this was possible but thought to ask just in case. Well if this can’t be done then I guess there is no other choice than to manually place the email file in the folder.
