I work with two different iSeries at the same release level and sharing the same printers.

In the first iSeries (development) the printer file (*AFPDS) prints the human readable text for the barcode.

The second iSeries (production) using the same programs, printer files, printers, do not print the human readable text. I would like to know what to do without going for the patch of using parallel fields for the text.

Software/Hardware used:
iSeries V5R3M0 L00 , RPG, printer file (*AFPDS)

Perhaps the printer config is different on the two iSeries.

I would check the template. Otherwise, if you can clone/replicate iSeries Production to Development, then you wouldn't have any issue afterwards. You gotta make them twins eventually, right?

It depends whether the Code128 generator has the function to disable the human readable text or not. I used this code128 generator which provides a function to enable or disable the human readable text of code128.

It depends whether the Code128 generator has the function to disable the human readable text or not.   It depends on much more than that, and the generator you referenced clearly won't work at all for this question.   Tom
